Monthly Updated Access Database By Mervinoc on Sep 5 Max Bid: $50

I am busy writing a VB6 program that collects telephones records via the P.C's comm port. The program reads a text file character by character to ensure that the data is not corrupt. I have the program working. The only problem is when the call records builds up to over 8000 records it becomes very slow because when the new record needs to be added it has to start from "BOF"(Begining of the text file) each time a record needs to be added. The only way to fix this problem is to divide the database into monthly records.I need assistance doing this. Platform:
vb6 with Access database
Deliverables:1) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Employer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No 3rd party components unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the employer on the site per the worker's Worker Legal Agreement).
